A hippopotamus standing along the shore of Ngorongoro Crater.
Description
An adult hippopotamus emerges from the water to forage for food on the riverbank. As semi-aquatic mammals, hippos typically spend their days submerged to regulate their body temperature, venturing onto land during the cooler evening or night hours to graze on grasses.
